PAUS was born from necessity in the wake of the catastrophic 1999 cyclone, locally known as "Mahabatya," which devastated numerous communities in Kendrapara. This tragedy inspired a group of dedicated volunteers to come together, sparking the foundation of our organization in October 1999. Since then, we have worked across multiple regions, officially registering as an NGO in 2002, and we have made significant strides in our commitment to serve Odisha’s communities in the years that followed.
